Wine Barrels, Quinta da Pacheca's latest wine tourism offer, have just been awarded the "Best of Wine Tourism 2020" in the category of 'Architecture and Landscape'.
Wine Barrels, which are already one of the most differentiated tourist offerings in the Douro and the Country, have deserved widespread praise in the national and international press. Located on a new mall that has been ripped off on a high point of the property, the "giant barrels" by the architect Henrique Pinto allow a breathtaking view over the farm's acres of vineyard in a comforting and idyllic environment.
"We have been adding prizes with this idea that we started some years ago, in a clear proof that the bet was won," says Maria do Céu Gonçalves, co-owner of Quinta da Pacheca. The reinforcement of the wine tourism offer has made of the company one of the most important players of the sector and the bet is to continue, being at the moment to be constructed a new building, in a space contiguous to the current The Wine House Hotel Quinta da Pacheca, with capacity for more 24 rooms. An indoor and outdoor pool, a spa and a new fitness room complement the offer.
"We believe that the Douro has a lot to grow in the area of tourism and we want to be one of the leaders of this process, with a service of excellence", underlines the owner.
The "Best of Wine Tourism", a worldwide competition promoted by the "Great Wine Capitals Global Network", had already attributed to Quinta da Pacheca in three previous years: in 2017 won in the category of best ' Vino Restaurant 'in 2016 in the category of' Innovative Experiences in Wine Tourism ', and in 2015 in the category of' Accommodation '.
