The wine year of 2016 was marked by an exceptionally wet spring, with heavy rains and relatively low temperature conditions during the months of April and May. These conditions led to a signi cant reduction in yield and delay at the beginning of maturation.
The rst visible signs of the “Pintor” took place in the third week of July and the hot and dry weather that was installed throughout the summer, with the availability of water in the subsoil given by the spring rains allowed a uniform and gradual maturation.
The harvest began at Quinta da Pacheca on September 12, with grapes in perfect maturation, allowing to obtain ne and elegant wines.
The Pacheca Porto Vintage 2016 features a deep purple color. Intense aromas of wild black fruits (blackberries and blueberries), with notes of plum and raspberry, surrounded by notes of stems and cedar that give it great aromatic complexity. In the mouth it is intense with vigorous tannins, with good acidity, long and persistent, with great balance and elegance.
