A new  space dedicated to art has just come to life at Quinta da Pacheca, a place held by Óscar Rodrigues, a Douro valley born artist.

This creative proposal for a foray into the fine arts addresses various types of arts, from pottery to painting, from tile to sculpture. With unique and different challenges visitors are invited to carve into strains of old vines or to paint on a canvas whatever their creativity dictates.

Óscar Rodrigues has a degree in Fine Arts from the Faculty of Fine Arts of Porto. Born in Soutelinho do Mesio, he became known for the wood carving technique, having participated in a few environmental requalification projects in the municipality of Ribeira de Pena and Vila Pouca de Aguiar. Giving an extreme  importance to detail, Óscar Rodrigues has exhibited his works individually since 2001, and has also participated in several national and international group exhibitions.
