Herdade da Rocha is a small wine producer located in Crato, Portalegre, on the slopes of the Serra de São Mamede.
This Alentejo hill, with its granite soil, provides a unique setting for the production of distinctive wines. The project began in 2009 with the planting of carefully selected vineyards, adapted to the Alentejo climate and capable of producing elegant, fresh wines.
In addition to wine production, Herdade da Rocha offers a game reserve, where deer and fallow deer live freely, taking advantage of the surrounding natural beauty. The winery, enriched with works of art, is just one of the many places that invite you to visit.
The Alentejo estate also has a boutique lodge and a restaurant where visitors can relax and enjoy the regional cuisine, always accompanied by the house wines.

The Boutique Lodge

Herdade da Rocha's boutique accommodation consists of 4 suites overlooking the vineyards and 4 private villas, with decoration inspired by the olive tree, one of the symbols of the region.
Beyond accommodations, the winery, olive groves, golf course, and regional gastronomy make this a well-rounded retreat.
Guests can also enjoy wine tastings, visits to the winery, and regional gastronomy with a modern twist.

Herdade da Rocha Boutique Lodge offers four villas, which are designed with large windows to integrate indoor and outdoor spaces seamlessly.
Each villa has 45 square meters of space, including a bedroom, bathroom, terrace, and outdoor shower to enhance the nature-immersion experience while maintaining privacy.

Peace Retreat
Contemplate the peaceful beauty of Alentejo sunset
Inaugurated in 2019 by Nobel Peace Prize winner José Ramos Horta, the Peace Retreat was created in honour of the human rights defender.
Located at a strategic point on the estate, this retreat offers breathtaking views of the horizon and is the perfect place to enjoy a beautiful sunset, accompanied by a bottle of house wine or a picnic prepared by the restaurant staff.

Partially underground, its construction facilitates vinification by gravity and guarantees the ideal temperatures for ageing the wines.
Equipped with state-of-the-art technology, the winery is also a space where art and wine meet, with various artistic pieces decorating the place, reflecting the conviction that ‘Making Wine is an Art!’
