TASTING NOTES
Colour Ruby.
Aroma Elegant aroma of black fruit wrapped in notes of graphite and menthol.
Mouth On the palate, it is intense and elegant, with development from prolonged barrel aging. Fresh, with well-presented but smooth acidity and tannins. Great volume and complexity, with a very long and persistent finish.
Vineyards
This wine is obtained from grapes that come from vineyards planted in Quinta de Vale de Abraão, Rio Pinhão Valley and Vilariça Valley.
Vinification
Crushing and destemming of the grapes, fermentation in stainless steel tanks at 25º C with periodic pump-overs for the extraction of phenolic compounds. Co-inoculation of fermentation yeasts and lactic acid bacteria for the simultaneous completion of alcoholic fermentation and malolactic fermentation. Post-fermentation maceration for 3 weeks.
Barrel Aging
Aging in 7000L used French oak vats fro 18 months.
