TASTING NOTES
Intense ruby-colored red wine. The aroma is fruity (cherry, blackberry) with spicy notes from the wood. Very elegant. On the palate, it is intense, with great volume. Tannins are present but well integrated. Good length on the palate. Very persistent and elegant.
Food Pairing
Pairs well with red meat dishes. Roast lamb or kid, Portuguese stew. Soft cheeses.
Vineyards
This wine comes from vineyards planted in Quinta da Pacheca, Lamego, with 50 to 60 years old and from Vila Nova de Foz Côa with 25 years old.
Vinification
Destemming and crushing, fermentation in a granite lagars with periodic pumping over and délestage. Temperature-controlled fermentation at 24ºC, with inoculation of selected yeasts. Simultaneous alcoholic fermentation with co-inoculation of lactic acid bacteria.
Aging 1 year in used 300-liter French oak barrels.
